As part of our art direction of the Chicago Architecture Biennial, we were responsible for a comprehensive website that both introduces the biennial in its inaugural edition as well as serves as an ongoing presence between editions. Drawing from the grid developed for the overall identity—a visual form emblematic of both the city of Chicago and the practice of architecture itself—the result is highly modular and flexible accommodating an extensive variety of pragmatic information, events and multimedia. Special details in the execution, such as AJAX-driven dynamic content loading, the use of a grid line as a loading bar and animation of the logo upon scroll, heighten the interactive quality of the website.
